Safer working practices. This builds on Simply Education's online safeguarding tutorial and covers key ways to keep yourself safe in the classroom. The tutorial is a requirement for all staff working unsupervised with children or young people, and gives you a grounding in safeguarding roles and responsibilities and in the indicators of potential abuse to recognise and act on. The more you understand about the children you work with, the better you can support and motivate them, so we also look at how to find out more.
Behaviour management. Proactive teachers create calm classrooms by being organised and having a bag of tricks to draw on. We work through common, challenging scenarios and share the best approaches, so that even when the work left for a lesson is sketchy, or missing altogether, you can still create a calm and effective learning environment. The skills covered will lower your stress and make the classroom a better place for you and your pupils.
Removing Barriers to Learning webinar. Pupils learn, process and retain at different rates. You might expect this to be about differentiation, and in a sense it is, from an access to learning point of view, though the detail of differentiation comes in a separate webinar. Here we take apart four common barriers to learning and look at how to help the pupils affected enjoy their learning as much as their peers.
You must complete Simply Education's online safeguarding tutorial before attending.
