Salary: Leadership Scale L1 - £51,773 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, Term Time Only
Hours: 40 hours per week
Reporting to: Head of Alternative Provision

Simply Education is working with a specialist school who are seeking an exceptional and passionate Assistant Headteacher. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious educational leader who is committed to transforming the lives of young people through inclusive, trauma-informed and relational practice.

As Assistant Headteacher, you will work closely with the Head of Alternative Provision to drive excellence across our provision, ensuring every student receives the highest quality education, care and support. You will play a key role in strategic leadership, staff development and improving outcomes for learners with diverse needs.

This role is ideal for a motivated leader with experience in Alternative Provision, SEND, SEMH or vocational education who is ready to make a genuine impact.

What You'll Be Leading

  • Supporting the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Alternative Provision
  • Driving high standards in curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment
  • Monitoring student progress, behaviour and achievement to secure outstanding outcomes
  • Leading, coaching and inspiring staff through high-quality professional development
  • Supporting safeguarding, student welfare and positive behaviour approaches
  • Developing strong partnerships with families, commissioners and external agencies
  • Contributing to the continued growth and improvement of the provision
  • Championing trauma-informed and relational practice across the setting

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has successful leadership experience within education
  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable and disengaged learners
  • Has a strong track record of excellent teaching and raising standards
  • Understands SEND, safeguarding and Alternative Provision frameworks
  • Has experience with vocational pathways such as BTEC, ASDAN or City & Guilds
  • Is confident using data, self-evaluation and quality assurance processes to drive improvement
  • Can motivate, inspire and lead both staff and students with compassion and ambition

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Leadership or management qualifications
  • Training or experience in SEMH, ASD or specialist intervention approaches
