A supportive Alternative Provision in Shrewsbury is looking for a Behaviour Mentor / SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting young people with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural needs.

This isn't just a classroom support role it's about building trust, creating consistency, and helping young people feel safe enough to engage, learn and succeed.

The Setting

There are also opportunities for learners to take part in enrichment activities and educational trips, helping to build confidence, independence and positive experiences beyond the classroom.

Full support and ongoing training will be provided, so you will always have experienced colleagues around you.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), SEMH, Autism and ADHD
• Working as a Behaviour Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant
• Providing 1:1 support and small group interventions
• Helping pupils regulate emotions and positively manage behaviour
• Encouraging engagement, independence and positive routines
• Building strong, trusting relationships with young people
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
• Supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom
