School Caretaker - Late Shift

Location: Stoke‑on‑Trent
Hours: 10:30am - 6:30pm
Role Type: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience

Simply Education is currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking School Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Stoke‑on‑Trent, working a late shift from 10:30am to 6:30pm. This is a key role within the school, helping to maintain a safe, secure, and well‑presented environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The Role:

As a School Caretaker, your responsibilities will include:

Opening and closing the school site as required
Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks
Ensuring the school site remains safe, secure, and well maintained
Completing health & safety checks, including fire alarm testing
Liaising with contractors and managing site deliveries
Setting up classrooms, halls, and facilities for school activities and events
Grounds maintenance and general upkeep of outdoor areas

The Ideal Candidate:

Previous caretaking or site management experience (school-based experience desirable)
A good understanding of health & safety procedures
Practical DIY and maintenance skills
Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
A proactive and flexible approach to work
