About the Role

An ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Romford is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to join a successful and growing Computing department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 and contribute to the continued development of Computer Science within the school.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and challenging lessons that develop students' programming, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills. You will play a key role in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Computer Science examinations while promoting digital literacy and emerging technologies including AI, cybersecurity, and software development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Computer Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress effectively
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
  • Promote coding and programming using languages such as Python
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
  • Support extracurricular clubs including coding, robotics, or gaming clubs
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and student achievement

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Computing education
  • Experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level Computer Science
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • The ability to motivate and inspire learners of all abilities
