Are you an enthusiastic and reliable Daily Supply Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work within a welcoming and supportive primary school?
We are working in partnership with a fantastic primary school in Maldon that is looking to build a reliable pool of Teaching Assistants who can provide KS1 classroom support when required. Bookings may be pre-arranged in advance or offered on the morning, so flexibility and the ability to respond to same-day cover requests are essential.
About the School
This is a warm, inclusive and ambitious primary school where children are encouraged to become confident, independent learners. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, valued and motivated to achieve their potential.
Staff benefit from a supportive leadership team, a strong sense of community and a positive working environment where teamwork is highly valued. The school has high expectations for both learning and behaviour while maintaining a caring, child-centred approach.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain further education and training experience while enjoying the flexibility that daily supply work can offer.
Your Role
As a Daily Supply Teaching Assistant, you will primarily provide general classroom support across KS1. As you may be covering staff absence, you should be confident entering a classroom and quickly adapting to the routines and needs of the class.
Your duties may include:
- Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities
- Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning
- Supporting children with phonics, reading, writing and early maths activities
- Helping pupils remain engaged, focused and confident in their learning
- Preparing classroom resources and supporting the organisation of learning activities
- Promoting positive behaviour and following the school's behaviour policies
- Supporting children during transitions, breaktimes and lunchtimes where required
- Providing additional support to pupils who may need help accessing classroom activities
- Helping to maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
- Following safeguarding procedures and reporting any concerns appropriately
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who has previous experience working with primary-aged children and is passionate about supporting children's education and training. You should be adaptable, proactive and comfortable working across different KS1 classes.
You must be available for both same-day bookings and pre-booked cover, as the school's requirements can vary from week to week.
Experience supporting pupils in Year 1 or Year 2 would be particularly beneficial, along with a good understanding of phonics and the KS1 curriculum.
Why Apply?
Working as a Daily Supply Teaching Assistant gives you the flexibility to gain valuable classroom experience without committing to a permanent position. It is ideal for experienced TAs, aspiring teachers or individuals looking to develop their career within education and training.
You'll have the opportunity to become a familiar and trusted member of staff within a fantastic partner school, with the potential to receive regular bookings as you build relationships with the pupils and teaching team.
If you're based in or around Maldon and are looking for flexible KS1 Teaching Assistant work, we'd love to hear from you.
