A secondary school in Southwark is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join their successful department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential to teach Key Stage 5.

The Role

You will:

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Create a challenging and inclusive learning environment
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
• Support pupils in achieving strong academic outcomes
• Contribute to curriculum development and schemes of work
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
• Participate in parents' evenings, meetings, and school events
• Support extra-curricular English activities

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Degree in English or a related subject
• Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Ability to use data to inform teaching and interventions
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Commitment to raising attainment and student progress

Desirable

• Experience teaching KS5
• Experience delivering GCSE English Language and Literature
• Involvement in curriculum development or extra-curricular activities
