Headteacher - Surrey - Full time - £71,030 - £78,215

Simply Education is proud to be working in partnership with a School that is seeking an exceptional Head of School to provide strong, values-led leadership within a specialist setting supporting pupils aged 6-11 with communication difficulties associated with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will play a pivotal part in shaping the school's continued success, ensuring outstanding outcomes for pupils, and developing a thriving, high-performing team.

About the Role

Working closely with the Principal, you will lead the day-to-day operational running of the school while contributing strategically to its ongoing development.

You will ensure that every pupil is safe, supported, engaged, and making meaningful progress, whilst embedding a culture of excellence, inclusion, and accountability across all areas of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the school to ensure smooth, effective delivery
  • Drive pupil attendance, engagement, and progress
  • Champion a culture of safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory standards
  • Analyse and present performance data to inform decision-making
  • Build and develop a high-performing, resilient staff team
  • Maintain strong collaboration across Aurora Surrey schools and sites
  • Work in close partnership with the Principal and central teams

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH)
  • Strong understanding of SEND, safeguarding, and relevant legislation
  • Demonstrable success in leading teams and driving improvement
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills

You will also bring:

  • Experience working with children and young people with autism and complex needs
  • The ability to lead with resilience, professionalism, and empathy
  • Strong organisational, operational, and financial awareness
  • A commitment to values-led leadership and inclusive practice

Experience working across multiple sites is desirable but not essential.
