Simply Education is delighted to be working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Kent that is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher to join their successful department from September 2026.

This exciting opportunity would suit a teacher with experience delivering a combination of Religious Education, Sociology and History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 teaching depending on experience.

The Role

The successful candidate will inspire students through engaging and thought-provoking lessons, encouraging critical thinking, debate and a deeper understanding of historical, social and religious issues.

Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching Humanities subjects including RE, Sociology and History.
• Planning and delivering high-quality lessons that challenge and engage learners.
• Monitoring, assessing and reporting on student progress.
• Creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and achievement.
• Contributing to the wider life of the Humanities department and school community.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has experience teaching one or more of the following subjects: RE, Sociology and History.
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for Humanities education.
• Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Is committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for students.
• Works effectively as part of a collaborative team.
