KS1 Teaching Assistant - Full Time | Basildon

Our lovely two-form entry primary school in Basildon is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate KS1 Teaching Assistant who is committed to supporting children during their early years of learning and development. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a nurturing school environment in Basildon.

Role Details

• Full-time position
• Monday to Friday
• Working hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
• Based in a welcoming primary school in Basildon

Responsibilities

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, your duties will include:

• Supporting the class teacher with daily classroom activities
• Working with small groups and individual pupils to support learning
• Assisting with phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy interventions
• Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom engagement
• Preparing classroom resources and maintaining learning environments
• Supporting children with additional learning needs where required
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive atmosphere for all pupils

Requirements

• Previous experience working within a primary school setting preferred
• Passion for education and training
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Safeguarding training is essential
• Enhanced DBS registered on the DBS Update Service
• Positive and proactive attitude towards education and training
