Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential? We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) team.

About the Role

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, the SEN team and external professionals to provide high-quality support for students with a range of additional learning needs, disabilities and medical requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one support for students with identified additional needs.
• Supporting small groups of students to develop academic, social and emotional skills.
• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Helping students access the curriculum by adapting learning activities where appropriate.
• Promoting independence, confidence and resilience.
• Supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students develop effective learning strategies.
• Assisting with personal care or medical needs where required, including administering medication following appropriate training.
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Building positive relationships with students, parents, carers and external agencies.
• Contributing to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
• Patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with students.
• Flexible, reliable and enthusiastic with a proactive approach.
• Calm under pressure and able to respond sensitively to individual needs.
• An excellent communicator who works well as part of a team.
• Organised, professional and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Educated to GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Ideally experienced in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
