💰 Grade Hay 5, Point 6 (dependent on experience)
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist school for a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive and dynamic team.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils with additional needs, supporting both their learning and overall wellbeing in a nurturing educational environment.
🌟 The Role
As an LSA, you will work under the direction of the class teacher to support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access learning and develop key life skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting learning activities in and out of the classroom
- Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Promoting pupils' independence, communication, and social development
- Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies
- Assisting with personal care and medical needs (training provided)
- Supervising pupils during playtimes, lunchtimes, and trips
- Contributing to classroom preparation and resource management
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress
👤 About You
We are looking for candidates who are:
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
- Emotionally resilient and calm under pressure
- Strong communicators who can build positive relationships
- Confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Able to support personal care and wellbeing needs sensitively
- Equipped with good literacy, numeracy, and basic ICT skills
Experience working with children or young people-particularly those with special educational needs-is highly desirable.
