Are you a passionate and ambitious Modern Foreign Languages teacher committed to helping young people develop confidence, communication skills and a broader understanding of the world?
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of MFL to join our successful and supportive department from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner, or an Early Career Teacher, to make a significant contribution to the continued success of our languages provision.
The successful candidate will be passionate about language learning and committed to delivering engaging, challenging and inclusive lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential. You will have the ability to build positive relationships, create a stimulating learning environment and motivate students to develop confidence and fluency in both French and Spanish.
The Role
As Teacher of MFL, you will:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in French and Spanish across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Create a positive and engaging classroom culture where students feel confident to communicate and take risks in their language learning.
- Develop students' speaking, listening, reading and writing skills through creative and effective teaching approaches.
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, provide meaningful feedback and raise achievement.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND, disadvantaged learners and high-attaining pupils.
- Contribute to the development of an ambitious and knowledge-rich MFL curriculum.
- Support students in achieving strong outcomes in external examinations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to departmental improvement.
- Participate fully in the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, educational visits and extracurricular opportunities.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards achieving it.
- Has the ability to teach French and Spanish to Key Stage 4.
- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for language learning.
- Has high expectations of student achievement, behaviour and attendance.
- Is committed to inclusive education and ensuring every student can succeed.
- Possesses excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Is reflective, motivated and eager to develop professionally.
- Shares a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
