Simply Education are excited to be working in partnership with a welcoming and nurturing independent school in Akeley, Buckingham, who are looking to appoint an experienced Nursery Manager to lead their nursery provision.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Nursery Manager, Early Years Manager, Nursery Deputy Manager or experienced Early Years Leader who is ready to take the next step in their career and lead a thriving nursery environment.

The nursery caters for children aged 12 months to 4 years, providing a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can learn, play and develop.

Location: Akeley, Buckingham
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, 52 Weeks
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Start Date: September 2026

The Role

As Nursery Manager, you will take responsibility for the leadership, management and day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring children receive consistently high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS framework.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, motivating and supporting the nursery team
• Managing the day-to-day running of the nursery, including staffing, rotas and ratios
• Ensuring compliance with EYFS, safeguarding and regulatory requirements
• Providing a high-quality, play-based Early Years curriculum
• Overseeing children's development, planning, assessment and progress
• Promoting inclusive practice and supporting children with additional needs
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health, safety and hygiene
• Building strong and positive relationships with parents and families
• Managing nursery resources and budgets effectively
• Supporting children's transition into Reception
• Working closely with the wider school team
• Contributing to inspections and the wider life of the school

What We're Looking For

We are keen to hear from experienced Early Years professionals with:

• Level 3 Early Years qualification - essential
• Significant experience working within an Early Years or nursery setting
• Previous leadership, management or supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to lead, motivate and develop a nursery team
• A warm, nurturing and child-centred approach
• Paediatric First Aid, or willingness to obtain

Level 5/6 Early Years qualification, DSL experience or previous school/independent nursery experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
