PE Teacher

Job description

PE Teacher - Alternative Provision | Crewe | Long Term Role | September Start

Location: Crewe, Cheshire
Pay: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

About the Role

This isn't just a PE teaching role.

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join a supportive Alternative Provision in Crewe this September on a temporary to permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who believes in the power of sport, teamwork, and physical activity to help young people build confidence, develop resilience, and reconnect with education.

You will be working with young people with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD and additional learning needs, supporting them through a structured and positive approach to learning.

For some learners, PE is where they feel most confident-and your role will be to use that opportunity to help them experience success, develop new skills, and believe in their own abilities.

The Setting

This Alternative Provision provides a calm, supportive and structured environment where relationships come first.

You will teach KS3-KS4 learners in small groups, delivering engaging PE lessons that encourage participation, teamwork, confidence and positive behaviour.

The school recognises that every learner is different, and lessons are adapted to meet individual needs while maintaining high expectations.

You'll be joining a dedicated team of teachers and support staff who work together to create a safe environment where young people feel valued, understood and motivated to achieve.

The Impact You'll Make

This is the kind of PE role that reminds you why sport matters.

You'll have the opportunity to use physical activity as a tool to inspire young people, improve confidence, develop social skills and help learners recognise their own strengths.

You'll celebrate the moments that make a real difference-the student who joins in for the first time, the learner who develops confidence through teamwork, or the young person who starts to believe in what they can achieve.

This isn't just about delivering PE lessons. It's about building relationships, encouraging positive choices, and helping young people develop skills that will support them both inside and outside of education.

What You'll Receive

  • Temporary to permanent opportunity from September
  • Small group teaching within a supportive Alternative Provision setting
  • A highly supportive and experienced staff team
  • Clear behaviour and pastoral systems already in place
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference through sport and education
  • Ongoing support and guidance from Simply Education throughout your placement

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a PE Teacher who is:

  • Passionate about sport and helping young people succeed
  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent)
  • Calm, patient and adaptable in their approach
  • Confident building positive relationships with learners
  • Able to motivate students with a range of abilities and needs

Experience within SEND or Alternative Provision is beneficial but not essential. What matters most is your ability to engage, inspire and support young people.

Apply Today

If you're a PE Teacher looking for a rewarding role where you can use sport to make a real difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.
