Are you a passionate and experienced Product Design Teacher looking for a permanent opportunity from September 2026?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded independent school in Barnet, Hertfordshire, seeking a talented and committed Product Design Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced secondary teacher with strong subject knowledge who is passionate about delivering engaging, practical and innovative Product Design lessons.

The Role

As a Product Design Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the secondary age range, encouraging students to develop their creativity, technical understanding and practical design skills.

You will be expected to:

• Deliver engaging and challenging Product Design lessons.
• Plan, prepare and assess high-quality teaching and learning.
• Develop students' practical, creative and analytical design skills.
• Maintain excellent classroom management and high expectations of students.
• Keep up to date with curriculum developments and developments within Product Design.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support outstanding student outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Product Design Teacher who can demonstrate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
• Several years experience teaching within a secondary school environment.
• Strong subject knowledge in Product Design.
• A good understanding of current curriculum developments.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• The ability to inspire and engage students.
• A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
