Qualified Childcare Practitioner

Job description

A welcoming primary school in West Northampton is looking to appoint a passionate and committed Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join their Early Years team on a full-time basis. This role is available for an immediate start and will initially be offered on a short-term temporary contract, with the potential to become a longer-term opportunity for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting young children during the early stages of their education, helping to provide a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will help children build confidence, develop essential skills, and enjoy a strong foundation for future learning.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of creative and engaging activities that follow the EYFS curriculum
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Encourage learning through play, exploration, and structured learning opportunities
  • Observe and monitor children's progress, contributing to assessments and learning records
  • Support children's social, emotional, language, and physical development
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to provide high-quality early years education
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and self-confidence in children
  • Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
  • Follow safeguarding and welfare procedures in line with school policies
  • Assist with classroom organisation, resources, and daily preparation

Candidate Requirements:

  • A recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare is essential
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or Early Years setting is required
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Enthusiastic and dedicated approach to supporting children's development
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Patient, caring, and positive attitude
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
