School Business Manager

Job description

School Business Manager

Simply Education are working with a specialist SEN school in Chaldon to find an experienced and approachable School Business Manager to join their team.

Location: Chaldon, Surrey
Salary: £55,000-£59,000 per annum, depending on experience
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible

About the Role

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being at the heart of a school and making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.

As School Business Manager, you'll be part of the Senior Leadership Team, overseeing the day-to-day running of areas including finance, HR, administration, facilities, health & safety, site maintenance, housekeeping and catering.

You'll manage budgets and resources, make sure the school remains compliant and safe, and work closely with staff and external partners to help the school continue to grow and improve.

What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Previous experience as a School Business Manager or in a similar senior operational role
  • Strong knowledge of finance, budgets and financial processes
  • Experience with HR, recruitment and employee relations
  • An understanding of safeguarding, education regulations and compliance
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A practical, organised and solution-focused approach
  • The confidence to make decisions and manage responsibilities independently

Experience in an SEN or specialist setting would be an advantage, but it's not essential. What's important is that you're open to learning about autism and the needs of the young people the school supports.

You'll be based at the school in Chaldon, with occasional work required at their satellite site in Caterham.

If you're looking for a varied leadership role where you can make a genuine difference to the day-to-day running of a specialist school, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today through Simply Education to find out more.
