This is a fantastic opportunity for dedicated teachers who want to make a real difference in the lives of young people who benefit from a more personalised, supportive and structured approach to education.
You will be teaching students with SEMH and additional learning needs, many of whom require a calm, consistent environment to help them re-engage with learning and achieve success at their own pace.
The Setting
This Alternative Provision provides a calm, structured and highly supportive environment where learners are encouraged to re-engage with education in a way that meets their individual needs.
You will be teaching small groups of KS3-KS4 learners, supported by experienced staff and strong safeguarding and behaviour systems.
Lessons are adapted to ensure accessibility while maintaining high expectations, routine, and meaningful progress across all subject areas.
You will be joining a collaborative team where staff support one another, share good practice, and work together to create positive outcomes for every learner.
The Impact You'll Make
This is a role where subject knowledge matters-but so does patience, consistency, and the ability to build trust.
As a Secondary Teacher, you will help learners reconnect with education, rebuild confidence, and experience success in a way that may not have felt possible before.
Progress will look different for each young person, but every step matters-from improved engagement to increased confidence and achievement in your subject area.
This is teaching that is purposeful, rewarding, and genuinely impactful.
What You'll Receive
- Temporary to permanent opportunity from September
- Opportunities across all secondary subject specialisms
- Small group teaching within a structured Alternative Provision setting
- Supportive and experienced staff team
- Clear behaviour, safeguarding, and pastoral systems in place
- Ongoing professional development opportunities
- Continuous support from Simply Education throughout your placement
Who We're Looking For

- Qualified Teachers (QTS or equivalent)
- Passionate about their subject and teaching young people
- Calm, consistent, and resilient in their approach
- Able to build strong, positive relationships with learners
- Open to working in Alternative Provision and supporting SEMH learners
Experience in SEND or Alternative Provision is beneficial but not essential-full support will be provided.
