Are you a passionate Maths Teacher ready to teach differently?

Simply Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist independent school to recruit an inspiring, compassionate and creative teacher to support young people aged 7-19 with Special Educational Needs who may have become disengaged from mainstream education. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference - helping learners rebuild confidence, reconnect with education and achieve outcomes they may never have believed possible.

With small groups, 1:1 teaching and personalised learning pathways, you'll have the freedom to deliver Maths in engaging, meaningful and innovative ways that genuinely meet individual needs.

The Role

As an SEN Maths Teacher, you'll deliver tailored Maths lessons across specialist learning hubs in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, working closely with colleagues to create multi-sensory, learner-centred experiences that support both academic and personal development.

This role goes beyond the classroom. You'll help young people develop confidence, resilience, communication skills and a belief in their own potential - all within a safe, nurturing and supportive environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Planning and delivering engaging, personalised Maths programmes
  • Teaching in small groups and 1:1 settings
  • Using creative and multi-sensory approaches to maximise engagement
  • Supporting learners with a range of additional needs and barriers to learning
  • Building strong, positive relationships with learners and families
  • Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate EHCP and assessment records
  • Collaborating with colleagues and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes
  • Contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement
  • Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion at all times

What We're Looking For

  • Is passionate about inclusive, learner-focused education
  • Believes every young person can succeed with the right support
  • Brings creativity, patience and adaptability to their teaching
  • Builds strong relationships and communicates with empathy
  • Wants to make a meaningful difference every single day

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Maths
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to travel between learning sites

Why Join Us?

You'll be part of a supportive, forward-thinking team where creativity is encouraged, relationships matter and every breakthrough is celebrated. With smaller teaching groups and a truly personalised approach, you'll have the time and flexibility to teach in a way that changes lives.

If you're ready to inspire, support and champion young people who need it most, we'd love to hear from you.
