SEN Teacher (SEMH) | Maths / English

Greater Manchester | £30,000 - £35,000 per annum | September 2026 start (earlier possible)

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established independent SEMH school with sites across Greater Manchester, including Old Trafford, Stockport, and Chadderton. They work with young people aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, and they need teachers who bring patience, resilience, and real commitment to the table.

The Role

You'll be teaching core subjects at Functional Skills levels (Entry Level through to Level 2) across Years 7-11. A Maths or English background is preferred, but you'll be expected to cover a broad range of core subjects. Classes are small, and the focus is very much on building relationships and unlocking progress for young people who haven't thrived in mainstream settings.

What They're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
• ECTs are welcome, subject to a 3-month probation period
• Experience working with challenging behaviours is a real advantage
• A genuine interest in SEMH and alternative provision
• Calm, consistent, and creative in approach

Salary and Details

• £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
• September 2026 start, with potential for an earlier start date
• Primarily based at Old Trafford, with possible placement at Stockport or Chadderton
