SEMH Teacher - Chester

Location: Chester
Contract: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner for the right candidate)

Change Lives Through Education

Not every classroom journey is straightforward. Some young people arrive at school carrying challenges that extend far beyond the curriculum. They need more than a teacher-they need someone who believes in them, champions their potential, and helps them rediscover a love of learning.

Simply Education is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH school in Chester that is seeking an exceptional Teacher to join its dedicated team. This is an opportunity to be part of a setting where relationships come first, every achievement is celebrated, and the impact you make can genuinely transform a young person's future.

The Opportunity

As a Teacher within this specialist setting, you will work with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and may have experienced significant barriers to education. Your role will go far beyond delivering lessons-you will inspire confidence, build trust, and create opportunities for students to succeed both academically and personally.

Every day brings new challenges, but also the chance to witness incredible progress: a student engaging in learning for the first time, building positive relationships, or achieving goals they once believed were out of reach.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
  • Believes that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their starting point.
  • Can create engaging, inclusive lessons that meet a range of learning needs.
  • Builds strong, positive relationships and understands the power of consistency and trust.
  • Remains calm, resilient, and solution-focused when faced with challenges.
  • Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Experience within SEMH, SEND, Alternative Provision, or Behaviour Support settings is welcomed, but equally important is a genuine commitment to supporting young people to thrive.

Why Join This School?

  • Be part of a passionate and supportive team that shares a common purpose.
  • Work in a setting where wellbeing, relationships, and personal development are valued as highly as academic achievement.
  • Access ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Experience the reward of seeing the difference your support makes every single day.
  • Help shape brighter futures for young people who need it most.
