SEND Teaching Assistant - Secondary Schools Across Kent

Location: Kent
Salary: Competitive daily rate

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have experience working with children or young people and want to make a real difference in a secondary school setting?

We are currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to work within a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Kent.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to access learning and achieve their full potential. You may provide one-to-one support, work with small intervention groups, or assist within the classroom alongside teaching staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with a range of SEND needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language needs, and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Encouraging student participation, confidence, and independence.
  • Supporting behaviour management strategies and positive learning environments.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs, parents, and external professionals where required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, adaptable, and resilient approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
