SEND Teaching Assistant - Year 2 1:1 SEN Support | Outstanding Primary School | Colchester

Are you an experienced SEND teaching assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity within an outstanding primary school? We are recruiting for a dedicated SEND teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with complex Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a welcoming and high-achieving school in Colchester.

The successful SEND teaching assistant will have previous experience supporting pupils with complex SEN needs, including communication difficulties, sensory needs, and associated behavioural challenges. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with complex SEN.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning strategies.
  • Support the pupil's academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build effective relationships with staff, parents, and external professionals.

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children with complex SEN within a primary school setting.
