Permanent | Full-Time

Salary: £32,916 - £47,472 (M1 - UPS1) + £5,000 Welcome Bonus for Qualified Teachers

40 Hours Per Week

Simply Education are excited to be working with a specialist education provider that supports children and young people aged 6-16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), moderate to severe learning difficulties, and associated additional needs.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join an expanding team and make a genuine difference to the lives of pupils with complex learning needs. The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated learning experiences that support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment where pupils can thrive.
  • Lead teaching and learning for your assigned pupils, ensuring progress and wellbeing remain at the centre of your practice.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of communication, sensory and learning needs.
  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress against personalised learning outcomes.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff, providing guidance and mentoring where appropriate.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver learning through creative, play-based and pupil-centred approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with families, therapists and external professionals to support positive outcomes for pupils.
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex learning needs.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
  • Experience planning and delivering personalised learning programmes.
  • The ability to adapt communication and teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • A nurturing, patient and child-centred approach.
  • Strong assessment and progress-monitoring skills.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using educational technology.
  • Experience working with EHCPs and personalised learning pathways.
