Alternative Provision | Long-Term Part Time or Full Time

Are you a Primary or Secondary Teacher who is confident and happy to teach English and looking for a rewarding new opportunity?

A specialist secondary Alternative Provision in Macclesfield is looking for a committed and enthusiastic teacher to join their team on a long-term basis, with the potential for a permanent position for the right person.

You don't need to be an English specialist. The school would be interested in hearing from both Primary and Secondary Teachers who feel confident teaching English and enjoy adapting their teaching to meet the needs of individual pupils.

The Role

You will:

• Deliver engaging and accessible English lessons to secondary-aged pupils.
• Adapt lessons to suit different abilities, needs and learning styles.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Support pupils to make academic and personal progress.
• Create a calm, structured and engaging learning environment.
• Work closely with colleagues to support pupils' wider educational and pastoral needs.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a teacher who:

• Has experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• Is Primary or Secondary trained/experienced.
• Is confident and happy to teach English to secondary-aged pupils.
• Can build strong, positive relationships with young people.
• Is patient, adaptable and resilient.
• Is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Experience within Alternative Provision, SEND or SEMH would be beneficial but is not essential.
