About the Role

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated SEND team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive impact on their educational journey.

Working Hours

• 32.5 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
• 39 weeks per year (term time plus non-pupil days)

Key Responsibilities

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Work with individual students and small groups to support learning and progress
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
• Support students with SEND to access the curriculum effectively
• Encourage the development of literacy, numeracy and communication skills
• Help students use technology confidently within the classroom
• Promote positive behaviour, self-esteem and emotional wellbeing
• Foster independence, resilience and confidence in learners
• Support the implementation of individual learning plans and intervention strategies
• Contribute to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• A good standard of education, including GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent)
• A genuine passion for supporting young people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy and a positive attitude
• The ability to build effective relationships with students and colleagues
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to use initiative
• A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and student achievement

Experience of supporting students with SEND is desirable but not essential, as training and development opportunities will be provided.
