Teaching Assistant

Simply Education are working with a brand new specialist secondary school in Horsham to recruit a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £22,996 - £24,568 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, Term Time Only
Hours: 40 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026

This specialist SEND school supports autistic young people aged 11-16 through small class sizes, an adapted curriculum, and a strong focus on wellbeing, independence, and personalised learning. The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and the SENCO to support students both academically and emotionally. You'll help deliver personalised learning, implement therapeutic strategies, and encourage students to reach their full potential.

The role also includes supporting enrichment activities such as outdoor learning, sports, educational visits, and community projects.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEND, or a genuine willingness to learn.
• An interest in psychology, therapy, or supporting neurodivergent young people.
• Excellent communication and IT skills.
• A resilient, patient, and positive approach.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
