About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, the SEND team and other professionals to provide high-quality classroom support, enabling all students to access learning and reach their full potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting students in the classroom on a one-to-one basis, in small groups or as part of whole-class learning.
• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Helping students access learning by adapting activities and resources where appropriate.
• Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Promoting students' confidence, independence and resilience.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting effective learning strategies.
• Assisting with personal care and medical needs where required, including administering medication following appropriate training.
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Building positive relationships with students, parents, carers and external agencies.
• Contributing to a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Supporting students during breaktimes, educational visits and other school activities where required.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their best.
• Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with students.
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Is calm, adaptable and able to respond sensitively to individual needs.
• Is organised, reliable and proactive.
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Holds GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Experience of working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND, is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
