About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing. You will play an important role in helping create an inclusive, engaging and positive classroom environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging lessons.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Provide targeted support with reading, writing, phonics, mathematics and other curriculum areas.
• Help pupils understand and complete classroom activities.
• Adapt resources and activities to support individual learning needs.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and resilience.
• Support children with additional educational or learning needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and reinforce classroom expectations.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to the class teacher.
• Support teachers with observations, assessment and recording of pupil progress.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, other teaching assistants and the SENCO.
• Support pupils during break times, lunchtimes and school activities where required.
• Help create and maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Prepare classroom resources, displays and learning materials.
• Support educational visits, school trips and enrichment activities.
• Assist with classroom organisation and general preparation.
• Follow school policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements.
• Promote equality, inclusion and the wellbeing of all pupils.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions and relevant education and training opportunities.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
