Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire

Position Overview: Simply Education is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teaching Assistant to join our team in Stoke on Trent. This rewarding role involves providing support to students with special educational needs within mainstream primary or secondary school settings. Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, ensuring their individual learning needs are met effectively.

Assist the class teacher in implementing Education Health Care Plans (EHCP’s) and behaviour management strategies.

Support students during classroom activities, ensuring their participation and engagement.

Guiding students to and from lessons.

Working in the SEND provision within the school 1-1 with students.

Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their well-being and academic progress.

Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other members of the SEND team to create a supportive learning environment.

Help to create and adapt learning resources to suit the needs of individual students.

Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.

Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support are advantageous.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students.
