Register for English as an Additional Language

For those supporting children in class for whom English is an additional (or even new) language, many schools can feel unsupportive or somewhat disorganised. The capacity of a school to support its non-English-speaking students depends on various factors, including the number of EAL students, the diversity of foreign first languages spoken (and the availability of adults in the school who speak those languages), the fluency level of EAL children in English, the availability of support staff and the resources dedicated to EAL programmes.
