The course provides an in-depth understanding of the role, including expectations, core skills and safeguarding practices, to ensure participants are prepared to support learning effectively.

Day 2
Morning: Virtual Safeguarding, including Safer Working Practices (2hrs 30 mins)
This full safeguarding session, updated as of September, includes interactive discussions and Q&A opportunities. It meets the requirement for a three-year generalist safeguarding update. The session also includes Safer Working Practices, focusing on how TAs can ensure safety for themselves and others in the classroom.
Afternoon: Virtual Behaviour Management Workshop (3 hrs)
This session addresses common low-level disruptions and their impact on learning, such as chatting, lateness and distractions. Participants will learn practical techniques for managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive learning environment. These skills aim to reduce stress and improve outcomes for both TAs and pupils.

This course is designed to be completed before new TAs with limited experience are placed in schools, in line with compliance guidance.Eligibility:
Candidates should have some prior experience working with children and Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills.Certification:
Both days of the course must be completed to gain certification. However, the days may be completed out of sequence.
