Job description
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Nursery Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with autism and speech and language delay. You will help the child access the EYFS curriculum and integrate with peers. This is a full time, long term role starting after October half term and lasting until the summer, in the first instance.
About the Nursery:
An inclusive, purpose-built early years setting that supports children with a wide range of additional needs. The team works closely with therapists and local professionals to deliver targeted support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support based on EHCP goals
- Use visual aids, Makaton and sensory resources
- Build trust and communication with the child and their family
- Work closely with SENCO and external specialists
- Contribute to reviews, progress reports and planning
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting children with SEN or complex needs
- Level 2 or 3 in Early Years or relevant SEN qualification
- Calm, patient and adaptable approach
- Understanding of autism and communication strategies
All candidates who register with Simply Education are required to provide references for the previous 2 years of work, as well as complete an enhanced DBS check. Any interviews we hold will be conducted over a Teams call.
