Contract: Permanent
Working Hours: Full Time
Start Date: 5 January 2026
Salary: £26,403 - £28,142 per annum (dependant on experience)
Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

A dedicated SEND Admin Officer is required to support a specialist provision, ensuring the smooth and effective running of all administrative functions. This role is ideal for an organised and proactive professional who enjoys working in a supportive environment and is committed to contributing to positive outcomes for children and young people.

This position involves working closely with senior leaders and wider teams, delivering high-quality administrative support and ensuring day-to-day operations run efficiently. You will play a central role in maintaining a welcoming, professional front-of-house environment and supporting the safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils through consistent and reliable administrative practice.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive, high-quality administrative support, collaborating with staff and families to promote pupil wellbeing.

  • Lead and support the office team, coordinating routines and daily workflow to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Oversee the reception area, ensuring all visitors are welcomed professionally.

  • Support pupil welfare through first aid assistance and effective communication with parents and staff.

  • Manage clerical and organisational tasks to support events, activities, and wider operations.

  • Coordinate the external invigilator database and assist with cover arrangements.

  • Oversee the administration of pupil admissions and ensure a smooth, welcoming process for new families.

  • Maintain accurate manual and computerised records, preparing reports and data as required.

  • Handle general enquiries, sign in visitors, and manage correspondence professionally.

  • Organise meetings, take accurate notes, and ensure all details are managed effectively.

  • Support lettings administration, maintain display areas, and contribute to a positive, vibrant environment.

  • Operate ICT systems confidently and manage supplies securely.

  • Uphold confidentiality and accuracy across all administrative tasks.

  • Promote safeguarding, equality, data protection, and health and safety policies.

  • Participate in meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.


About You

The ideal candidate will be approachable, reliable, and motivated, with a genuine commitment to supporting children and families through strong administrative practice.

We're looking for:

  • Experience within an administrative support role, ideally in education or a similar setting.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Accuracy, numeracy, and attention to detail.

  • Confidence in leading, supporting, and motivating colleagues.

  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.

  • Initiative and proactive problem-solving.

  • Willingness to undertake first aid training.

  • Competence in Microsoft Office and confidence learning new systems.

  • Professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.

  • Flexibility and a positive attitude toward continuous improvement.

  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and professional standards.

  • Willingness to complete all pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS.
