Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant
Location: Great Yarmouth
Hourly Rate: £13.68 - £14.90
Contract: Monday - Friday (08:30 - 15:30)
Start Date: January 2026
We're looking for committed and resilient Teaching Assistants to join specialist provisions in Great Yarmouth, supporting children with challenging behaviour and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Our nurturing, trauma-informed approach focuses on helping every pupil feel safe, supported, and able to succeed both emotionally and academically.
Key Responsibilities of a Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour in and out of the classroom
- Implement strategies to support learning, engagement, and emotional regulation
- Work one-to-one or in small groups to provide targeted support
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people (SEMH/behavioural support experience advantageous)
- Calm, consistent, and able to stay positive under pressure
- Skilled in building trusting relationships and setting clear boundaries
- Passionate about inclusion, wellbeing, and trauma-informed care
