About the Role

Simply Education is seeking a confident, reliable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant secondary school in Cambridge. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences and ensuring students remain engaged, focused, and on task.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes across a range of subjects, following pre-prepared lesson plans.
  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Support students with their work, encouraging good behaviour and focus.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies.
  • Record attendance and report any issues or concerns to senior staff.
  • Assist around the school with duties where needed, contributing to the overall smooth running of the day.

About You

  • Experience working with young people (e.g., school, coaching, tutoring, youth work) is desirable.
  • Confident, assertive, and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Adaptable, calm, and able to think on your feet.
  • A genuine interest in supporting students and being part of a school community.
  • Ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals seeking school-based experience.
