Cover supervisor
Job description
We are looking for confident, reliable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in a range of secondary schools across Hertfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school staff who want to gain valuable classroom experience while making a real impact on students' learning.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and complete the work that has been set. You will play an important role in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting students to stay on task.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising whole classes during teacher absences
Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Supporting students to remain focused and productive
Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson progress
What We're Looking For
Strong communication and classroom presence
Confidence managing groups of students aged 11-16
A calm, professional, and adaptable approach
Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
A degree or relevant school experience is advantageous
