Deputy Head of School

Location: Northampton
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000
Contract Type: Full Time

Simply Education has a fantastic opportunity to work in a SEN School as a Deputy Head. This role would be ideal for someone who is a teacher with some leadership experience to step up or a Deputy Head who is willing to step in and teach within the school when necessary. This role includes managing the performance of the school and ensuring the school is ready for inspection to achieve an outstanding provision and all statutory requirements are met.

The Role:

• Accountable for the running of the school, teams and students
• Deliver an effective curriculum based around Behaviour needs and SEN needs according to EHCP plans
• Delivery of effective pastoral support across the school
• Contribute to a positive ethos for learning
• Deliver an exciting, stimulating and broad curriculum
• Step into classes to teach when it is needed
• Promote and secure range of extra-curricular activities within the school
• Follow the safeguarding policies and ensure it's followed across the school
• Cover and support the Head Teacher from time to time when required
• Create high expectations of staff and students
• Provide senior support to staff in all aspects of behaviour management

Qualifications and requirements:

• Teaching qualifications (QTS/QTLS)
• Degree or equivalent
• NPQSL and/or NPQH (desirable)
• Ofsted inspection experience

Preferred skills:

• Highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic
• Promote and build positive and strong relationships across the school and parents
• Effective management and administrative skills
• Manage student discipline and have a commitment to high level of pastoral care
• Working with parents and the community to create a successful partnership
• Experience in Teaching in SEN environment
