Job Title: Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Location: Lambeth, South London
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-Time (Long-Term)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
A school in Lambeth is seeking an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join their team immediately. This is a key role within the school, responsible for leading and managing all safeguarding and child protection procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, staff, parents, and external agencies to maintain the highest standards of safeguarding across the school.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the school's safeguarding and child protection strategy
Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns within the school
Manage and maintain accurate safeguarding records and referrals
Liaise with social services, local authorities, and external safeguarding agencies
Support and advise staff on safeguarding procedures and best practice
Ensure compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years experience working as a DSL or Deputy DSL in a school setting
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and KCSIE
Experience working with multi-agency safeguarding teams
Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Available to start immediately
