Job description

English Teacher - Long-Term Supply (Southwark)

We are seeking a confident and dedicated English Teacher for a long-term supply placement at a high-performing secondary school based in Southwark, from after February half term until the end of the academic year.

The school is well-established, academically ambitious, and known for strong behaviour, clear routines, and a supportive staff culture. • Delivering engaging, well-structured lessons in line with departmental schemes of work

  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and safeguarding

There is potential for progression into a Head of English role for the right candidate, should this be of interest, making this an attractive post for an experienced teacher seeking leadership development during a long-term placement.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A current enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

  • A secure understanding of safeguarding and child protection, with a commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people

  • Recent experience teaching English at secondary level in the UK

Pay: In line with the Teachers' Pay Scale (via agency)
Contract: Long-term supply (February half term to end of academic year)
Location: Southwark, South London

All applicants will be subject to relevant safeguarding and compliance checks in line with current legislation.
