Are you a passionate and resilient English Teacher looking to make a real difference? Simply Education is a friendly, well-established supply agency with nearly 20 years of experience, and we are currently seeking a dedicated English Teacher to support an SEMH secondary school in Stockport, teaching KS3 and KS4 pupils.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is committed to supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a structured and supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English across KS3 and KS4, adapting lessons to meet individual needs

  • Inspire pupils to develop reading, writing, and communication skills

  • Manage behaviour effectively using positive and consistent strategies

  • Track, assess, and report on pupil progress

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with support staff and senior leadership


Must-Have Skills

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum

  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach to teaching


Nice to Have

  • Experience teaching exam classes (GCSE)

  • Previous experience in SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision

  • Trauma-informed or behaviour management training
