Are you a passionate and resilient English Teacher looking to make a real difference? Simply Education is a friendly, well-established supply agency with nearly 20 years of experience, and we are currently seeking a dedicated English Teacher to support an SEMH secondary school in Stockport, teaching KS3 and KS4 pupils.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is committed to supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Teach English across KS3 and KS4, adapting lessons to meet individual needs
Inspire pupils to develop reading, writing, and communication skills
Manage behaviour effectively using positive and consistent strategies
Track, assess, and report on pupil progress
Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Work collaboratively with support staff and senior leadership
Must-Have Skills
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
Strong knowledge of the English curriculum
Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Calm, patient, and resilient approach to teaching
Nice to Have
Experience teaching exam classes (GCSE)
Previous experience in SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision
Trauma-informed or behaviour management training
