Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a welcoming school in Brentford.

The Role

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.

  • Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Use strategies and interventions to help pupils regulate behaviour, build confidence and engage with learning.

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to deliver personalised support plans.

  • Encourage independence, resilience and personal growth in every pupil.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (essential).

  • Calm, patient and empathetic approach with excellent behaviour management skills.

  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Team player with a proactive attitude and a genuine commitment to inclusion.

  • Relevant training or qualifications (e.g. Team Teach, SEN training) desirable but not essential.
