Job Title: Geography Teacher

Location: Secondary School - Stafford Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: [Long-term]

About the Role

Simply Education are currently working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in the Stafford area. They are seeking a motivated and dynamic Geography Teacher to join their Humanities department and inspire students to explore the world around them, from physical landscapes to human societies.

Key Duties

  • Deliver engaging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in line with the national curriculum.

  • Plan and deliver lessons covering physical, human, and environmental geography.

  • Assess, record, and report on student progress and attainment.

  • Provide constructive guidance to enhance student development.

  • Work alongside colleagues to develop schemes of work and fieldwork opportunities.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to strengthen student progress.

Key Skills & Qualities

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography and a passion for inspiring curiosity about the world.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management techniques.

  • Energy and patience, especially when working with students requiring additional support.

Essential Requirements

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Geography in line with the national curriculum.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable

  • Experience assisting students with SEN.

  • Dedication to broadening access to education.

  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities such as geography clubs or field trips.
