Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)

The Role

Simply Education is proud to be working with a supportive and inclusive SEN school in Peterborough to recruit a dedicated HLTA. This is a temp-to-perm position offering long-term stability and the chance to work as part of a highly committed team.

As a HLTA, you will support teaching and learning across the school, leading planned lessons and targeted interventions for pupils with a range of needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties. You will play a key role in ensuring all students access a meaningful and inclusive curriculum.


Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher

  • Leading targeted group work and interventions to raise attainment

  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Collaborating with class teachers and the SENCO to monitor pupil progress

  • Supporting with personal care when required

  • Helping to maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment


The Ideal Candidate

  • HLTA qualification or significant relevant experience is essential

  • Experience in a SEN setting is required

  • Confident leading lessons and managing classroom behaviour

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
