About the Role:
 Simply Education is recruiting a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Ely. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who require additional support and guidance.
As an HLTA, you will support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education, and you may be required to lead lessons, manage small groups, and provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support learning across the curriculum, both individually and in small groups.
 - Lead classroom activities and lessons in the absence of the teacher.
 - Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to students' needs.
 - Promote positive behaviour, emotional development, and social skills.
 - Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and senior staff.
 - Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
 
Essential Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent.
 - Experience leading a classroom and managing student behaviour.
 - Knowledge of SEMH strategies and interventions.
 - Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
 - Strong communication and organisational skills.
 
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in SEMH or special educational needs settings.
 - Ability to develop creative, engaging, and differentiated learning activities.
