About the Role:
Simply Education is recruiting a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Ely. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who require additional support and guidance.

As an HLTA, you will support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education, and you may be required to lead lessons, manage small groups, and provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support learning across the curriculum, both individually and in small groups.
  • Lead classroom activities and lessons in the absence of the teacher.
  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to students' needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional development, and social skills.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and senior staff.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals to support student development.

Essential Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience leading a classroom and managing student behaviour.
  • Knowledge of SEMH strategies and interventions.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in SEMH or special educational needs settings.
  • Ability to develop creative, engaging, and differentiated learning activities.
