Humanities Teacher - Immediate Start
Location: Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent Contract: Full‑time | Long‑term Start Date: Immediate Agency: Simply Education
Simply Education is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the Tunstall area. The school is looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across subjects such as History, Geography and Religious Studies, while supporting pupils in developing strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Applications are encouraged from both experienced teachers and confident ECTs.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Humanities subjects across KS3 and KS4, delivering well‑planned and engaging lessons
Cover a range of topics within History, Geography and RS, depending on specialism
Plan, deliver and assess learning in line with curriculum expectations
Support pupils of mixed abilities through clear explanations and differentiated activities
Promote curiosity, debate and independent thinking within the classroom
Maintain a positive, well‑managed learning environment
Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
Participate in wider school life, including duties, meetings, parents' evenings and CPD
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge across Humanities disciplines
Ability to inspire and challenge learners through creative and structured teaching
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Confident classroom management and strong communication skills
