About the Role
We are seeking an inspiring and committed Humanities Teacher to join our successful department. The role offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The successful applicant will be passionate about their subject, able to engage students of all abilities, and committed to raising attainment through high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across the Humanities curriculum (History, Geography, and/or Religious Studies)
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and high-attaining students
- Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school policies
- Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement in line with the school's ethos
- Act as a form tutor, supporting the academic and personal development of students
- Participate in enrichment opportunities such as field trips, clubs, and revision sessions
- Engage in whole-school initiatives and contribute to the wider life of the school
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A degree in a Humanities-related subject
- Experience teaching Humanities at KS3 and KS4
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Humanities education
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
Desirable:
- Ability to teach a Humanities subject at A-Level
- Experience with GCSE exam specifications (e.g. AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
- Evidence of contributing to curriculum development
- Experience working with diverse student populations
