Learning Support Assistant - Behaviour & SEMH Needs

Location: Longsight, Manchester
Salary: £23,114 per annum (pro rata)
Contract: Full-time / Long-term
Start Date: Immediate

Simply Education are working with a specialist provision in Longsight supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide targeted support to pupils displaying behavioural and additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils with SEMH or behavioural challenges.
  • Implement de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies using Team Teach techniques.
  • Support teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Encourage pupil engagement, self-regulation, and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Team Teach qualification (essential).
  • Experience working with young people in education, youth, or community settings.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education.

Desirable:

  • Level 1 or 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Background within SEMH, PRU, or Alternative Provision settings.
