About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) looking for a new challenge. Simply Education is seeking two enthusiastic and flexible Learning Assistants to join a committed team in a secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Islington. You will be instrumental in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them to achieve their academic and personal potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
- Assist in developing and delivering tailored educational plans to improve reading, writing, and numeracy.
- Engage and motivate pupils with SEMH challenges, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to support students' social and academic development.
- Support students across a variety of settings, including off-site provision where necessary.
- Contribute to improving the overall provision and support for students within the unit.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN), or within a PRU environment.
- Ability to engage and motivate students with SEMH challenges.
- Flexibility and adaptability in working with a variety of student needs.
- Educated to at least a Level 2 standard (English and Maths).
- A passion for working with young people and making a positive impact on their lives.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a team.
